The territorial police in Luuka have arrested a traditional healer identified as Bulayimu Batesa and one Mudoola Gerald to aid in investigating the alleged illegal exhumation of remains in Luuka district.
It is alleged that during the night of the 16th/05/ 2023 at Namadope village, Bukanga Sub county in Luuka district, unknown people illegally exhumed the remains of the late Majidu, cut off the head before abandoning the remaining parts about 30 metres away from the graveyard.
Upon getting a report of the incident, a team of detectives went to the scene.
Further, the sniffer dog was introduced to the scene, and traced the scent to the shrine of Bulayimu Batesa where they got him with Mudoola.
ASP Kasadha Michael the Busoga North Police mouthpiece says; on conducting the search in the shrine, items of evidential value were recovered.
“The two have been charged with Trespassing on burial grounds and Disturbing the peace of the dead.
More investigations are ongoing” Kasadha told this website.
