Whispers Magical children’s hospital & maternity in Jinja City has received an ambulance with a high dependency medical equipment.
The new land cruiser 2023 model fully equipped ambulance has medical equipment like Oxygen supplying system, defibrillator, patient monitoring system, patients’ bed, first aid kits among others.
Whispers Magical children’s hospital is a charity hospital serving Jinja and other neighboring districts like Iganga, Kamuli, Buyende, Bugweri, Mayuge, Luuka Bugiri, Kaliro, Namutumba Namayingo, and part of Buganda ( Buikwe and Kayunga).
Some of the residents of Jinja say that they were facing difficulties because of high charges on them to transport a patient to a given health facility. Most of the ambulances that are in the area also lack medical equipment units that can give a patient good first aid before reaching hospital.
Ms. Veronika Cejpkova, CEO Whispers says that they are organizing a fundraising dinner set for 22nd July, 2023 aimed at collecting fuel for the ambulance so that residents can get free services when being transferred to health facilities.
Mr. William Katuramu the Human resource manager, revealed that Whispers Magical children’s hospital management is set to attach one nurse in the ambulance.
Dr. Emem, the Medical Director says that this is the first time for the hospital to get a fully equipped ambulance. It has come timely when the hospital’s attempt to get an ambulance turned into a frustration as the agents concerned exaggerated taxes and the whole process of clearance turning the ambulance into a grounded one and beyond repair.
