Police in Lugazi on Monday June 20, 2023 arrested a man suspected to be the one in a viral video where he claims to be among the ADF rebels who attacked Lhubiria Secondary School in Karambi sub county, Kasese District last Friday night.
In the attack linked to the ADF rebel group, at least 42 people, mostly students were killed.
The self- pronounced rebel arrested in Lugazi, warns of even more deadly attacks in a trending TikTok video.
The person arrested in Buikwe on suspicion that he could be the one in the video has been identified by the police as Resto Kalenzi.
Kalenzi is a 25-year-old, resident of Namengo village in Lugazi Municipality.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Kalenzi is a shop attendant and not a boda boda rider as it was earlier being reported in the social media.
By press time, Kalenzi was still being grilled by CID officers at CPS Lugazi.
Hellen Butoto the Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson has at least confirmed Kalenzi’s arrest.
Kalenzi is son of David Mujabi David and Nalongo Jane Francis of Mayindo Bulyantete village in Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe district.
In the viral video, the man claims they killed 70 people in Kasese and not only about 40 as being reported.
He says they have planned an attack on Kampala this June 21 and warns that whoever goes to the capital that day, shall be at risk.
