St. John’s Church of Uganda in Ivukula, Namutumba district on Sunday June 25, 2023 was packed with Christians from all corners of Bukono constituency who came thank God for healing President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni from Covid-19.

The function was also attended by all District officials including the RDC, LVC chairperson, LCIII, LCII and LCI chairpersons plus the ruling NRM structures.

The lands minister of state and area Member of Parliament, Hon Persis Namuganza organized this church service and attended in person.

Namauganza thanked God for healing the President and lauded the First Lady, Janet Kataha Museveni for taking care of the man from Rwakitura.

“I thank God for healing our President. I also thank Maama Janet Museveni for the good care. May God richly bless her. Lord we glorify your mighty name for saving the life of our most loved and most trusted leader,” Namuganza said.

Namauganza acknowledged the attendance of the Thanksgiving service by all clergymen and women from her constituency led by Canon Ivan Waaka – the main celebrant.

Namauganza said the Thanksgiving service was a testament to God’s goodness and faithfulness.

She reminded the congregation that President Museveni is still very strong and going nowhere.

The Minister also expressed her appreciation to all religious people who prayed for the president during the time when he was in self isolation.

On his part, Canon Waako offered a dedication prayer to President Museveni, his family and all servants in government. He also specifically prayed for Minister Namuganza.

Earlier this month, President Yoweri Museveni tested Covid-19 positive.

Subsequently, he went into self isolation. On  the 11th day, Museveni issued a statement about his status, declaring he was now Covid-19 negative.

The president thanked God for saving him from the deadly virus and the First Lady for taking good care of him.
