Detectives at Nsangi Central Police Division in Wakiso district are tirelessly hunting down unknown armed robbers who shot and killed a 45-year-old businessman and stole shs 80 million from him on Friday night.
The victim had been identified by the police as Lawrence Lutaseera a resident of Nakilama cell, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso district.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Lutaseera was shot at around 10:30pm by the armed gunmen as he returned home with his wife, Norah Patricia Kyazike and their guard, Rashid Ssenyonga.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango said Saturday morning when Lutaseera’s vehicle Reg No UBG 169M in which they were traveling reached their gate, unidentified men on a bodaboda, each armed with a gun, suddenly appeared and opened fire, shooting both Lutaseera and the gateman who was trying to open the gate.
The assailants proceeded to rob them of approximately 80 million shillings and their mobile phones,” said as he confirmed the incident.
