Two suspected thieves who were found in possession of two stolen goats were killed and burnt to ashes by an angry mob in Jinja City.
The incident occured on Sunday July 30, 2023 where Byeko Onyango and Musisi Mafabi both aged 22 were brutally murdered and set ablaze in Kainogoga cell, Buwekula ward in Jinja Northern Division.
Reports indicate that the duo broke into Hussein Tenywa’s home and made off with two goats.
The mob hunted for the suspected thieves and got them red-handed roasting meat of the suspected stolen goats in a nearby garden.
The enraged mob then pounced in them leaving them almost lifeless before setting them ablaze.
Police were alerted about the incident, but by the time they swung into action found only burnt bodies beyond recognition.
The bodies of the victims were later taken to Jinja main hospital mortuary for further investigations and documentation.
James Mubi, the Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the police was investigating.
