A 27-year-old Vincent Bwayo is in custody at Namisindwa Central Police Station after he allegedly chopped off his wife’s head and delivered it at the door of another man he has been suspecting to be in love with the deceased.
Bwayo and his wife (now deceased), Justine Wachemba have been residents of Watoko village in Bumali Sub-County but neighbours say their marriage was characterized by violence.
Bwayo on Friday night was overheard by the neighbours shout at Wachemba, accusing her of being involved in an extra-marital affair with a another man identified as James Musoba.
Julie Namara the Namisindwa Deputy Resident District Commissioner, confirmed the incident and informed the Eye Media that Bwayo is currently detained at Namisindwa Police Station.
“He first wanted to go and hand her over to Musoba alive. But on their way to Musoba’s home, he cut her head off while at the River Salaa bridge, abondoned the rest of her remains there and took only the head up to Musoba’s home,” said the Deputy RDC.
Namara has assured relatives of the deceased that the suspect shall not escape the wrath of the law.
