Policd in Gulu city have apprehended a 20-year-old man who allegedly picked an an axe and hacked his mother to death for delaying to serve him with supper.
The suspect has been identified as Dickson Okane who has been living in the same vicinity with his now deceased 49-year-old mother, Betty Adoch in Bar Cell, Laroo-Pece Division, Gulu city.
Okane is detained at Gulu City East Division Police Station where detectives are investigating him on case file number CRB 361/2023.
Local authorities say Okane, is known to have a history of violence towards his mother.
The Police have retrieved the axe used in the crime, and the deceased’s body has been sent for a postmortem examination at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital.
