On Thursday evening, the Fountain of Honor also the National Resistance Movement Chairperson, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appointed, reappointed and dropped some ministers in a mini reshuffle that basically leaves out those with scandals.
The reshuffle also saw his Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun and his Deputy Irene Birungi Mugisha get new deployments.The former has since been appointed as minister in the Office of the Prime Minister in charge of Northern Uganda whereas the latter was sent to the Ministry of Public Service for redeployment.
Lawyer-turned communication expert Gloria Omaswa Asio has since been appointed to replace Dr.Omona as the substantive PPS to the head of State.
Asio boasts of over 20 years experience in the communication industry across East Africa, Europe and North America
She is a daughter to Prof. Omaswa and she once worked at QG Saatchi & Saatchi in the creative department and she would ensure that MTN Adverts were well produced and on time.
She studied law at Makerere University and also attended the Law Development Centre before she entered the communication world eventually earning a Masters in communication strategy at the Brand Centre, VCU, USA.
A devout Christian,Asio despises mediocrity and treasures transparency in all that she does. She is result oriented and all her peers and contemporaries like Patrick Oyullu fancy her approach to delivering assignments as planned.
A team player of sorts,Asio’s approach to work is associated with a bottom to top way of executing ,errands where her subordinates are empowered and encouraged to be part of the successful story.
An introvert of sorts,she prefers taking the backseat to see her strategy getting implemented.
