Residents of Buwekula in Jinja city northern division are in shock following the death of their village mate who reportedly committed suicide.
Milly Mutesi, a 20-year-old woman hanged self using a mosquito net in the landlady’s bathroom on Friday May 3, 2024.
It’s reported that Mutesi before meeting her fate has been having unresolved love affair misunderstandings with her boyfriend who she allegedly accused for having multiple sexual partners.
She couldn’t purportedly tolerate with boyfriend’s shameless practices and impunity and resorted to ending her life.
The landlady identified as Flavia Namuyomba reported the matter to Bugembe Police station, which SP James Mubi, the Kiira region police publicist confirmed.
“Police strongly caution members of the public against taking the law in their hands. We shall not tolerate such acts of lawlessness,” Mubi said.
Mubi urged residents to desist from taking their own lives as it is against the teachings of the Bible and other holy books.
He noted that prosecution guided investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of the shocking incident.
