Kampala, June 23, 2025 — It was a moment of jubilation at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party headquarters in Kyadondo as Sarah Auma, a passionate mobilizer and councilor representing Nawantumbi Ward in Nawanyago Town Council, was officially nominated to contest for the Kamuli District LCV Chairperson flag in the upcoming NRM primaries.
Clad in a radiant yellow gomesi and surrounded by jubilant supporters, Auma’s nomination marked a major milestone in her political journey—one she has diligently prepared for over the past year through grassroots engagement and tireless mobilization across the district.

Auma, who previously served as District Woman Councilor representing Nawanyago and Wankole Subcounties, has built a strong grassroots base, especially among the youth and women groups. Her unwavering commitment to community development, youth skilling initiatives, and women empowerment projects has earned her admiration and loyalty from across Kamuli.
“This is not just my journey. It is a journey we walk together as a district. I stand to bring inclusive leadership that listens and delivers,” Auma told The Eye Media shortly after her nomination.
Known for her down-to-earth approach and practical support to income-generating projects, Sarah Auma has positioned herself as a fresh and relatable alternative in Kamuli’s political landscape. Her growing popularity is attributed to her accessibility, consistent community presence, and her ability to bridge the gap between policy and the people.
Political analysts note that Auma’s candidacy introduces a new wave of youthful, development-oriented leadership in the district, which could redefine the tempo of service delivery and grassroots governance.
As the NRM gears up for competitive primaries, Sarah Auma’s nomination injects fresh energy into Kamuli’s political arena—an arena long dominated by established figures. Her supporters believe it’s now time for the district to embrace a leader who has walked with the people and is ready to lead from within.
The Eye Media will continue to follow the race for Kamuli’s top seat as it unfolds.
