Kampala – Minister for Kampala, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, will officially carry the NRM flag for the Kampala Central parliamentary seat after her two rivals withdrew from the race.

Initially, three candidates had expressed interest in the party ticket: Kabanda, Charles Nambavu, and Baker Kyambadde. However, both Nambavu and Kyambadde pulled out of the contest, paving way for Kabanda to be declared unopposed.
The development has tightened Kabanda’s grip on the NRM machinery in the city, setting the stage for what could be a fierce general election battle in one of Kampala’s most competitive constituencies.

NRM insiders described the withdrawals as a strategic consolidation of support behind Kabanda, who now heads into the campaign season with a strong mandate from the party.
