A 47-year-old man identified as Elias Byamukama has been lynched by an enraged mob who say he was a habitual thief.
Byamukama met his death Wednesday night when they this time caught him stealing coffee from the plantation of his neighbor Naboth of Kibutamo I village in Sheema district.
At the time they caught him, Byamukama had so far harvested about 3kg of coffee but also had a hen suspected to have been stolen from another neighbour.
When Naboth was patrolling his planation at around 2:00am, saw someone stealing his coffee and made an alarm that attracted residents who caught Byamukama and killed him as he attempted to run away.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate confirmed this report.
