Residents of Asinge ‘B’ in the border town of Malaba, Tororo district are in shock after discovering a decomposing body of a one-year-old girl in a garden, two kilometers away from her parent’s home.
Baby Promise Atte was on June 30, 2023 stolen from her 36-year-old mother, Grace Naziwa.
Her body was discovred on Sunday July 2, 2023 by residents.
According to police, preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased baby was first defiled before she was murdered.
Police say, two unknown men grabbed the baby and took off on the motorcycle. The baby’s mother was reportedly at Mama Musa’s bar in Asinge ‘B’ Ward at the time of the incident.
Police said the young girl together with another young boy had moved outside the bar where they played together.
