Shock gripped residents of Karuhuma village in Kyanamira Sub County, Kabale district when a man murdered his mother in law.
The suspect who is on run has been identifed as Isaac Ndyamuhaki and the deceased is Provia Kenyange 63 years old.
It’s alleged that, Kyampaire Florence the daugher to the deceased has been married to the suspect for ten years, with two children but the two developed domestic issues, for long time which prompted the wife to run away from his home.
According to Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly Maate, Over time the suspect has been tracing for the wife without getting clues on her wherabouts until the 04th of August 2023, at around 6PM, when he found the mother in law in the garden with his two children.
Armed with a panga, he hacked the old woman and took off after the heinous act.
“The two children ran home and informed their grand father, (husband to the deceased) who also informed the son identified asArineitwe Rogers who reported the matter at Kabale police station”. Maate said
He added that a team of officers led by incharge operations, visited to the scene of crime documented it, retrieved the body and took it to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
The suspect still at large and Police has launched a manhunt to ensure he is apprehended.
