Police in Kisoro have launched a manhunt for unknown gunman who shot dead a boda boda rider.
It’s is alleged that Bosco Dusabe a Resident of Nyarurama village Chahi Subcounty in Kisoro District was attacked by an armed man who fired at him severally.
Kigezi region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the shooting
He revealed that the incident occurred on the 5/8/2023 at about 23:00 hours while the deceased was at his home with his wife after work, he was attacked by unknown male assailant who was armed with a rifle and started firing at at him and one bullet got him in the stomach, thereafter the assailant took off.
The victim was rushed by relatives to Mutorere hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead shortly upon arrival.
Maate says Police swung into action upon alert by the deceased’s wife Claudine Mukandayisenga.
“scene of crime was visited by OC Chanika Police Station with other police officers and it was cordoned off and later visited by homicide detectives and SOCO from Kisoro police station, 6 ammunition cartridges were recovered and body conveyed to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem” Maate said
One person identified as Agaba Emmanuel 35 years a resident of the same village has been arrested to assist in police investigations.
The intention of the murdered is not yet established and inquiries underway.
