Police in Kanungu have arrested a father who murdered his own daughter
It is alleged that the 38-year-old Yosiah Kato hit his two years and a half old daughter to death during a fight with his wife after finding her having sex with another man in their marital bed.
Kigezi Regional Police mouthpiece, Elly Maate confirmed the incident which he said occurred Saturday Agust 5, 2023 at around 10Pm at Omurushasha cell Mbungu Sub county.
Maate said when the suspect was from Omurushasha trading centre for social evening with friends when he allegedly found a certain unknown man having sexual intercourse with his wife one Kyosimure Evelyn in his bedroom.
Apparently when he knocked on the door his wife opened a different entrance where the man escaped from.
A fight ensued between the couple and out of anger he grabbed a stick and started assaulting her from the bed.
Unfortunately the stick hit the innocent kid Fortunate Akansasira who was sleeping killing her instantly.
“Upon committing the crime he vanished in thin air only to hand himself to Kanungu Police station today 06/08/2023 and that’s when investigations commenced” Maate said
Scene was visited and documented, body picked and taken to Mpungu health center 4 for postmortem.
