A man identified as Rahman Nuwagaba Ssempija who has been masquerading as a State House staff ran out of luck, Tuesday August 15, 2023 when police arraigned him before court from where he was remanded to Kirinya prison.
Her worship Phiona Angura remanded remanded Ssempija to Kirinya Prison until 21st August, 2023.
According to the charge sheet, Ssempija has been posing as a State House operative, claiming that he reports directly to the President and the Inspector General of Police.
Those who know him say the suspect has for over 10 years been feared by even security officials in Jinja on belief that he was an operative.
“For over a decade, everyone has been bowing to him. Even the police and army officers have been fearing him and for that reason he could rescue arrested criminals from Police,” said one resident of Jinja.
Nuwagaba ran out of luck last Saturday when he was arrested after intimidating CID officers at Jinja Central Police Station (CPS).
Upon his arrested, police made a search at his home where they found charge sheets of high profile cases.
