Kiruhura and Kazo District authorities on Wednesday 11th October 2023 joined the rest of the world to celebrate the international day of the girl child under the theme: “fighting child marriages and teenage pregnancies”.
On this occasion they also recognised the outstanding women who were awarded with medal for their contributions to the development of Kiruhura District.
Notable among the awardees include Kiira regional Traffic officer Mable Asingwire.
In a phone interview with our reporter Mable expressed happiness for this recognition by her home district
“It sounds good and i am happy for being recognised as one of the outstanding women in the whole of my district” excited Mable Asingwire said.
A decorated senior police officer at the rank of Superintendent of Police Mable Asingwire is among the powerful women in Kiruhura district and she has made a record in her fight against animal thefts in the District!
Known for her amiable character Mable Asingwire is a workaholic officer who has also transformed the traffic department in Jinja City and Jinja District which has also brought sanity in and around Jinja.
