A 65-year-old grandmother has reported to police in Kabale a man who intercepted her 7-year-old grandchild, dragging her down and forcefuly used her for sex as she went to school Tuesday morning.
Tindiwegyi Mable a resident of Kabahesi village, Buhara sub county, Kabale district informed the police that after about only 1 hour of leaving for school, her grandchil returned him crying with blood flowing on her legs.
The 7-year-old victim whose identity we have concealed is a pupil at Kabahesi Nursery and Primary School.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson has identified the suspect Syliver Mulengyezi aged 19 years, a Rwandan National doing casual labor in Kabahesi village, Buhara Sub county in Kabale.
“It is alleged that the victim was heading to school and on her way she was intercepted by the suspect who diverted and dragged her to his place and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her. That the sexual act against the victim was too painful, made her bled and after, the suspect warned the victim not to tell anyone that if she did so, she would be harmed,” said Maate.
The police looked for the suspect and appreneded him as investigations continue.
