The Uganda Police Force has confirmed that Anthony Twinomijuni is in their custody for reportedly possessing attires that exactly resemble military uniform.
Belonging to the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), Twinomijuni, commonly known as Bobi Young, was apprehended on Thursday, May 23, 204 in police operations on security attires and equipment.
The NUP diehard was arrested from his home, located at Mutungo zone II, Nakawa Division in Uganda capital, Kampala.
Patrick Onyango, the spokesperson of Kampala Metropolitan police command, stated that the suspect was allegedly possessing Ranks resembling that one of the UPDF 4 Star General.
“Security agencies have today 23/05/2024 carried out an intelligence led operation at the home of one Twinomijuni Anthony commonly known as Bobi young, a resident of he was arrested. On searching his premises the following items were recovered, Ranks resembling that one of a UPDF 4 Star General, Walk Talkie, Berets resembling that of military police and two pairs of desert military shoes,” Onyango said.
Onyango said that Bobi Young is being charged with illegal possession of government stores and inciting violence.
He was handed over to the Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force (JATT) for further management, which Onyango emphasised that operation continues.
