Tororo, Uganda – August 19, 2024: President Yoweri Museveni has reappointed Amula Albert as the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Tororo, acknowledging his pivotal role in mitigating tribal conflicts within the district. Tororo, a district historically plagued by tribal tensions between the Itesots and Japadolas, has seen significant strides towards peace under Amula’s leadership.
Since assuming his role as Deputy RDC, Amula has been central to the efforts in bridging the divide between the two dominant tribes. His work in fostering dialogue and understanding between the Itesots and Japadolas has been widely recognized as a crucial factor in reducing hostilities and promoting coexistence.
Amula attributes his reappointment to his success in resolving these tribal disputes, stating that his ability to unite the communities likely influenced the decision by the appointing authority. “I am grateful for the continued trust placed in me to serve the people of Tororo,” Amula remarked, emphasizing his ongoing commitment to peacebuilding.
