The Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, has hailed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s acceptance to once again lead Uganda as both Head of State and National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), describing the decision as a response to the “popular call of Ugandans.”

In a post shared on her verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday morning, Babalanda congratulated Gen. (Rtd) Museveni for his continued commitment to transforming Uganda into a modern and competitive nation.
“So much done, so much more to do in transforming the lives of Ugandans… Energetic, tested, trusted, and blessed by God, victory is assured!” she wrote.
Her remarks come shortly after the NRM National Chairman formally accepted the party’s endorsement to contest in the 2026 general elections — a move that has been widely anticipated by supporters and leaders within the ruling party.
Babalanda, a close confidant of the President and a key figure in the party’s grassroots mobilization, emphasized Museveni’s legacy and capacity to deliver, noting that the President remains “energetic” and “trusted” to lead Uganda into the next phase of development.
The post has since garnered significant engagement online, with many interpreting it as a strong signal of confidence and renewed momentum within the ruling establishment ahead of the election season.
