Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Tumusiime Katsigazi, the Deputy Inspector General of the Uganda police has assured Indians living in Uganda of police’s commitment to ensure their safety.
Katsigazi asked the Indian community not to regard as organized crime the Friday 1:00pm shooting dead of their colleague Uttam Bhandari.
He said the gruesome murder of the director of TFS Financial Services by a polive officer, PC Ivan Wabwire is an isolated incident where the suspected shall carry his cross once captured.
The DIGP was meeting a delegation of the Indian business community living in Uganda Friday evening.
The DIGP expressed the readiness of the police force to protect all business communities, urging them not to let this incident discourage them from conducting business.
Since the shooting, the security organs are jointly hunting down Wabwire to face the Law.
