A section of local leaders from Buzaaya is crafting means by which their county can as soon as possible be split into two constituencies and granted a district status.
With 278 villages and six sub counties plus four town councils, local leaders behind the secession move feel that their county has what it requires to be granted a district status.
It is estimated that the county also has a population of not less than 220,000 people.
Kamuli District Speaker, Charles Mpalabule is reported to have said that they have already documented their request and forwarded it to the relevant authorities in Kampala.
Mpalabula hails from Magogo sub county in Buzaaya.
“Our document is in transit to the Local Government Minister, Raphael Magyezi,” Mpalabule is quoted to have said.
