The State House Anti-Corruption Unit working with Police CID have arraigned Charles Malinde, a Senior Assistant Engineering Officer of Tororo District before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of Causing Financial Loss and Embezzlement.
Prosecution told Court that in the Financial Year 2021/22, the accused while assigned as Project Manager for the construction of Kagera Bridge in Tororo Municipality, failed to exercise his responsbility, causing a financial loss of over UGX16M.
He also allegedly embezzled UGX3.6M meant for Kagera Bridge culverts.
Accordingly, Malinde was remanded until 23/05/2023.
