Police in Buvuma have arrested a woman suspected of having a hand the death of a 30-year-old woman who was strangled from her residence in Nkata village, Nkata Island of Buvuma District.
On Tuesday, Ssezibwa Police Spokesperson, Hellen Butoto confirmed the incident and said it happened in the wee hours of Monday.
She identified the deceased only as Doreen who was attacked by unknown assailants while entering her house at 3:00am from a vigil.
The suspects whose identities have been withheld left the vigil company of the deceased.
“They have been closed friends and moved together from the vigil of a person who died in the community therefore her arrest is to help into police investigation.
Butoto added that the deceased was strangled and a sharp object used to pierce her through the chest.
Police say the body was taken to Buvuma health IV for Post-mortem.
