A garbage truck has crashed a group of Catholic pilgrims, severely injuring four in Jinja.
The pilgrims were treking from Bugiri district and heading to Namugongo Catholic Shrine.
On reaching Mailo Mbili in Jinja, the truck rammed into them.
The four who are now admitted at Jinja Regional referral have sustained serious injuries including broken limbs.
“The legs of one of them have been smashed,” said an witness.
One of the pilgrims, Rose Nabirye blamed the police in Jinja. She said in all the districts they went through, they were being given protection but on entering Jinja, the case changed.
