An angry mob has lynched a 20-year-old man named Stephen Hafasha after getting him with a sheep suspected to have been stolen.
The incident happened Thursday around 6:00pm in Makurizo village, Bunagana town council, Kisoro district.
Hafasha a resident of Matarama village in the neighbouring sub-county of Muramba sub has always been suspected to be a thief.
The mob in Makurizo village beat him to death after failing to convince them that the sheep he was driving at the late hour of the day was his.
After lynching him, the charged mob took his body to his father’s home.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate has confirmed this report saying the body has been taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem as inquiries continue.
