The two prime suspects in the murder of Bugiri District Inspector of Schools, David Tenywa Kazungu have been arrested.
The two were on Tuesday June 6, 2023 picked up separately from Kigulu and Namungalwe in Iganga district.
The one on blue shirt in the above photo is Christopher Byansi (20) a resident of Nawankonge village in Nawaninji sub county, Iganga district, son of Wilson Magoba of the same address.
The one on maroon T-shirt is Abdallah Ziraba commonly known as Kisambira who sometimes call himself Moses aka Mozey (26) a born of Buseere village in Luuka sub county, Luuka district. Mozey is a son to the late Muhammad Ndifuna.
The duo have already confessed killing the District Inspector of Schools because of Shs. 900,000 they were demanding from him for their labour on his farm.
Using his own phone, murderers of Kazungu called his family and directed them the incomplete pitlatrine where they had dumped his body. The family found Kazungu’s body decomposing in the exact pit directed to them by the assailants.
Kazungu’s daughter had earlier on filed a case at Bugiri police station following calls from strangers who used her father’s phone to demand for Shs 20m ransom.
The daughter, according to Busoga East Regional Police Spokesperson, Diana Nandawula, told the police that Kazungu her father left home that he was going on his farm to show labourers what to do.
The two prime suspects have admitted they are the ones who did all of the above.
These are the causual labourers the deceased was last seen with on his farm in Nandelema village, Kapyanga sub county, Bugiri district.
