Police in Iganga was by Sunday evening July 2, 2023 still stuck with a decomposing body of a yet to be identified woman believed to have died at least 8 days ago which was retrieved from Lumbuye River in Lugobango village, Nawaningi sub-county.
The body of a woman believed to be between 30 and 40 years was found floating on the River banks on Saturday by the residents of Lugobango village.
Speaking to Eye Media, Busoga East Regional Police SP, Diana Nandawula said Sunday evening that the body was still lying in the Iganga Main hospital mortuary.
“We are appealing to anyone with a missing person to come and check on this body,” said Nandawula.
The body was on Saturday morning July 1, 2023 discovered by locals greeted by an awful smell when they had gone to the swamp.
Nawaningi sub county LCIII chairperson, Yakubu Ndhaye informed the police who retrieved the body and conveyed it to the mortuary as investigation continue.
