The embattled Soroti Chief Administrative Officer, Aggrey Winston Muramira has been transferred to Nakasongola District.
Muramira who in December 2021 replaced Luke L. L Lokuda has been on a hot seat with his administration marred with allegations of abuse of office and incompetence.
On May 16, 2023, the Deputy Inspector General of Government, Anne Twinnomugisha warned Muramira against disobeying lawful orders given to him by the Inspectorate of Government (IG).
The Deputy IGG was surprised to learn that while the IG Soroti Regional Office had on several occasions ordered the CAO to among others reign on the indiscipline of the technical staff and restore sanity, Muramira had not taken action.
Muramira, according to an insider who preferred anonymity, handed over office to Ben Ogwette Otim who was the Chief Administrative Officer of Lira district on Wednesday last week.
Soroti District Communication Officer, Abraham Ekwaru confirmed to the Eye Media in a telephone interview that Muramira has been transferred.
