Nwoya RDC Mr Christopher Omara confirmed the incident adding that police from Nwoya Central Police station visited the scene.
“There was a fatal accident at Ayago, yes that is true. At the moment we have sent our police team on the ground but two people died on the spot and two died on arrival. Our team on the ground will give us full detail,” he said in a telephone interview on Saturday.
He attributed the cause of the accident to over speed and the bad road.
“That road sometimes has those small potholes when you try to dodge and you are at a high speed you lose control. We have tried to talk to UNR, the regional office in Gulu, so that they can repair it,” he added.
This same spot claimed the lives of two in laws of the late Col (Rtd) Charles Okello Engola Macodwogo when they were returning from his burial on May 14, 2023.
