The territorial police of Kabale on Saturday July 15, 2023 registered the mysterious death incident of a 44-year-old Placidia Tumwesigyire.
Tumwesigyire was a chief wardress attached to Ngoma prisons, Nakaseke district, and resident of Kahamarunyanjoka village, Kitumba sub county in Kabale district.
Tumwesigyire allegedly collapsed inside Abapakasi bus at Kigongi stage, Kabale town at 2:00am Saturday on arrival from Kampala.
She was heading to Mparo village on Rikiga district to attend a relative’s wedding.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate confirmed the incident Saturday afternoon, noting that the deceased fellow down in the corridor of the bus thereby becoming unconscious.
“Thereafter, she was taken to Rushoroza health centre where she was pronounced dead upon arrival,” he said.
Maate says a report of sudden death was registered at Kabale police station and the
body taken to Kabale regional referral hospital for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
