At least five people have succumbed to the deadly cholera disease following its outbreak in Kayunga district.
The five are all from one village of Kayonjo located in Busaana town council.
The Chief Administrative Officer for Kayuga district, Abdu Batambuze told the Media on Tuesday evening that it has been confirmed by Laboratory tests that the 5 died of cholera.
Batambuze appealed to the people of Kayunga, especially Busaana town council to observe good hygiene practices as one way of fighting the disease.
“Some households especially in Busaana have no pit latrines. And our people should always wash their hands because indeed the disease is already with us,” he said.
