Resident Judge of the High Court in Jinja, Dr. Winfred Nabisinde has convicted Pastor Joseph Sserubiri of murder and human trafficking after he pleaded guilty.
Court found out that Pastor Joseph Sserubiri kidnapped and murdered a 4 years old Trinity Nakisuuyi on 30th September 2021.
Pastor Joseph Sserubiri of Kakira Deliverance and Healing Ministries admitted to the crimes on Monday July 24, 2023 while appearing before court with his coaccused including wife, Felista Namaganda and Ismail Buyinza.
During the court session, prosecution adduced evidence including a killer knife suspected to have been used by the accused to kill a years old Trinity Nakisuuyi, a tarpaulin used to carry the trunk of the deceased’s body, clothes which he wore the fateful, the DNA report from Government analytical Laboratory Wandegeya, the extra judicial statement recorded by Joseph Sserubiri among others.
When asked by the judge, about the evidence produced by state prosecutors, Pastor Joseph Sserubiri pleaded guilty and he was convicted of the same.
Justice Nabisinde set 1st August as a day she will delivee her judgement on the matter, on the same day Sserubiri’s co accused shall appear for hearing of their charges.
Speaking to Eye Media shortly after the Court session, both parents of the deceased minor pleaded for a death sentence for the man of God.
They also ask government to take stock of all leaders of Pentecostal Churches across the country since majority criminals disguise as Church leaders
Pastor Joseph Sserubiri was arrested on 6th December 2021, when he was suspected to have participated in the kidnap and murder of a 4 years Trinity Nakisuuyi at Market Zone in Kakira Town Council Jinja District.
Upon arrest, he led a team of investigators in Kakira sugar cane plantations where he dumped the trunk of the deceased’s body and the neighbouring village of Wanyange Lake, where he burried the head under a tree.
