The territorial police in Pallisa are hunting down the armed robbers who attacked DFCU Bank, Pallisa branch in an attempt to steal millions of money.
It is alleged that on July 26, 2023 at around 10:00pm, a group of men who were travelling on motorcycles arrived at the said bank in Pallisa town council, Pallisa district and attacked the armed security guards.
The thugs who were armed with a pistol managed to chloroform the guards, rendering them unconscious, according to preliminary findings.
It is further discovered by the police that the thugs then grabbed an SAR gun serial number 3200975-05883 from the security guards.
“And thereafter, they gained entry into the banking hall by breaking in through the west end window,” says Sp Immaculate Emily Alaso the Bukedi North Regional Police Spokesperson.
Alaso further told us that thugs tried to access the reserve room but with no success and therefore no cash was taken.
“Our police team responded very fast which scared off the suspects,” she said, adding that the SAR fiffle UG PSO3200975-05883 belonging to SGA security group Africa was later recovered from a secondary scene of crime with 05 live ammunition.
