One person died and several others injured when were involved in a motor accident
involving motorcycles reg number UFG 914U and reg number UFW 340C both Bajaj boxers and red in colour.
A UPDF officer has died on spot in a fatal accident involving two motorcycles
The deceased is one Nsekuye Erisa aged 28yrs a UPDF personnel attached to Katakwi army barracks also a resident of Murindi village, Muhindura parish Kanaba sub county Kisoro district,
It is alleged that the army man was riding motorcycle Reg Number UFW 340C Bajaj boxer which collided with an oncoming motorcycle ridden by a boda boda rider identified as Urban who is a son of Sebagare resident of Busozi village, in Nyakabande sub county Kisoro district.
Maate says occurred on the 06/08/2023 at around 17:50hrs, while motorcycle reg number UFW 340C being ridden by the deceased was from Kisoro side heading to Kabale side with two passengers ie the wife to the deceased and their child.
Upon reaching Kibande village, Kanaba sub county along Kisoro Kabale road involved in a head on collision with motorcycle reg number UFG914U being ridden by Urban a boda boda rider in Nyakabande which was from Kabale side heading to Kisoro.
Maate reveals that the accident was caused by a boda boda rider who was allegedly riding recklessly when he left his lane.
Passengers and both riders sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Mutolere hospital where the UPDF officer was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police was notified and scene was visited, victims taken to Mutolere hospital and body of the deceased taken back home by the relatives but advised not to burry before postmortem is carried out.
Both Motorcycles were parked at CPS Kisoro pending IOV inspection.
