In the recent past many radios have turned Jinja’s oldest FM their Academy where on air talents are groomed considering the rate at which their staff are willing to quit for greener pasture.
However, one of their least paid presenters fondly known as Maye doesn’t want to hear any discussion along that line.
The struggling Sports presenter who has already asked some people to help him scoop a slot at the well paying Baba FM, to replace Paul Kulumba who recently joined Beat FM has resorted to making attacks on whoever his brains tell him is the author of The Gossip Eye.
“Ask your boss not to waste his time on him. He doesn’t want bebs to know that he is struggling to make ends meet. He himself can’t mention names of more than five Uganda Cranes players and you can see the way he is struggling with the Queen’s language on Jinja News Tips,” one concerned comrade inboxed The Gossip Eye Desk.
The comments follows a post by “Maye” where he ranted in one of the Jinja based Media WhatsApp group over an article about the recent departure of Rahumah Najjuma where our snoop stated that Najjuma joined Nizam Road Smart FM because of poor pay at Kiira FM where indeed many staff confess they can barely afford two meals a day.
“Every radio has problems naye akiswisaaa how do you expect to get business nga someone is writing negative always on the station are helping or black mailing” Maye ranted on Jinja news tips.
Efforts by fellow reporters to remind him that the station is indeed struggling financially fell on deaf ears until he was ignored.
“Struggling might be the right term to use on Kiira fm but the rest I don’t know, kale twikaikane” one member who recently left the City Hotel based station for greener pasture observed.
But it seems, deep down his heart Maye knows that his current work station could be financially disabled but he doesn’t want the nation to know about it.
Maye is one of the less privileged staff who one of his colleagues at the station has alleged he sometimes fail to pay for transport of only 1000 to Mbiko.
Since this year is for Kulabisa, we kulabisa Maye Kabisa.
