It is alleged that Niwamanya Alledi aged 30 years a resident of Mukangumira cell, Hamurwa sub county Rubanda district killed his son identified as Ankorite Ariho in July.
Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate says the murder is linked to a marriage dispute between the man and the deceased’s mother who separated with him some time.
“It’s alleged that, some years back, Nuwamanya separated with his first wife with whom they had produced two children who went with their mother. He is said to have married another wife and later his children were brought back to him and their step mother did not like them, hence were mistreated which prompted their mother to withdraw them from their father and they were taken to their maternal grandmother” Maate said.
He added that the two children were brought back to see their father in the month of June 2023, and upon stay during the month of July 2023 Niwamanya is said to have taken his son to Ruboroga Forest in Ruboroga cell Mpungu parish Hamurwa sub county, murdered him and dumped the body therein.
The information started circulating in the village questioning the disappearance of the son, and when he learnt that people in his village have realized, he decided to take another child back to their grandmother in Rukiga district but the information had already reached them about the disappearance of the deceased.
This prompted his grandmother to ask him the where about of the second son and he deceived her that he had taken him to his other relatives.
Having not been fully convinced, they mobilized and arrested him.
Upon interrogation, that’s when he revealed to have killed him during the month of July and dumped the body in Ruboroga forest.
