The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chief Whip, Hamson Obua has cleared the air on the ongoing hullabaloo in Cabinet over a huge delegation that attended the UN General Assembly
This has led Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja and the Minister for General Duties, Justine Kasule Lumumba to engage in serious verbal exchange over their US trip.
Well as Nabbanja accuses Lumumba of inviting herself to the UN convention in New York, Obua says government was aware of her travel to New York by the officials.
He explained, according to Chimp reports that each of the two principals traveled with 5 people.
Obua is quotted to have said that President Museveni sought clarity about the trip following media reports that Nabbanja and Lumumba were accompanied by 70 delegates to the UN.
Obua’s clarity comes on the hills of verbal artillery from Nabbanja to Lumumba, accusing the former NRM Secretary General traveling without permission from her as her boss.
Lumumba remains tight-lipped on the allegations although Nabbanja accuses the woman from Bugiri of hiding behind shadowy forces “to fight her politically.”
Appearing on Bukedde TV, Nabbanja said Monday October 2, 2023 that “enough is enough, i have already asked relevant authorities to take action.”
