The rate at which experienced employees are quitting Ntinda based Baba TV is worrying.
Hardly three months since the departure of veteran Journalist Simon Muyanga Lutaaya, another senior presenter and talkshow host Al-mahad Kungu has quit.
Kungu announced his departure via his X handle (formerly Twitter).
“Today, I hang up the boots as an employee and political talk show host of Gangamuka on BaBa TV,” he announced, before thanking his employers and colleagues “for the opportunity, support, and allowing me to be myself.”
His next destination is unknown but early this year he was appointed a station Manager at Radio 4 owned by Events Guru Balam Barugahare. It is not clear whether he is going to concentrate on his managerial role or he is looking for greener pastures elsewhere.
Reliable sources at Baba Media Group have intimated to us that the media empire is struggling financially since the Managing Director Moses Grace Balyeku lost his seat of Member of Parliament representing Jinja West.
This has led staff to go for months without pay which is the source of disgruntlement among employees. A similar predicament has reportedly hit Jinja based Baba FM which has prompted some senior presenters to quit.
The situation at Baba TV was allegedly worsened by poor management challenges. It is alleged many employees are about to leave the station due to poor pay.
