Police in Soroti spent their better afternoon today in running battles characterized by tears gas against stones pelted by angry mob who wanted to a lynch a man only identified as Ramathan Ochen Aka Raga.
The angry mob were neighbors of the deceased Sauda Amedo who was allegedly killed at night by her concubine Raga.
A close neigbor told www.eyemediauganda.com that on Saturday Sauda Amedo a local brewer of waragi in Kichinjaji ward and her hubby Ochen had a wrangle inside their house over an unknown matter.
Yesterday the 22nd October she said Amedo was not at home.
“She called me and ask me whether the man was there, I said no. The door is locked and he has left.
So she asked me to find a way of opening the door that she wants to come and change clothes. So I told her, there is no way. Now at around 1am to 2am in the morning I had the door open, I thought they were the ones who were returning home and opening the door” she narrates while sorbing.
The neighbor explained that in the morning she called Amedo to fetch water but couldn’t get a response.
“I tried to knock the door,no response. I left for work in town thinking she was still sleeping, only to be called, Sauda has been found dead in the house” She said.
Peter Olaki the deceased’s brother said he was called while he was in Arau that his sister had died.
“I was called that my sister is dead, I reacted ha..it’s not true she is not dead, so I came picked local council one and my elder so we came and found that true she is dead. He said.
He alleges that the Suspect has been a notorious thief and had concubined with his sister for about three months.
