Police in Kabale have arrested a school teacher for defilement.
It is alleged that Ambrose Rukundo a 31-year-old teacher at Triple M primary school in Kabale and resident of Kibuzije village Rubanda district, had carnal knowledge of a 17yrs old girl of the same school.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the teacher committed the offence on the October 21, 2023 at about 10:00am at Ahamurambi village, Kaharo sub county in Kabale district.
Information available reveals that he called the victim in the staff room to bring books where he was alone hence forced her into a sexual act.
According to Kigezi region Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, the suspect didn’t even use a condom but after the act he gave the minor 5,000/= and told her not to tell anyone.
However, the victim went and informed her father who reported the matter to Njanja Police station and the suspect was accordingly arrested.
Elly Maate says the Scene of crime was visited, relevant statements from witnesses obtained and the victim examined as well.
Ethically teachers are barred from having a sexual affair with their learners.
