A 23-year-old Chapatti maker was on October 23 electrocuted to death when he climbed a police to tap free electricity from the main line.
The deceased had been indentified by the police as Jonah Turyatunga a Chapatti maker and resident of Rutwe cell, Kihihi ward, Kanungu district.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate told The Eye Media Uganda that the incident occured on October 23, 2033 morning.
“He had gone to connect live power for his daily work of making chapatti. He touched a live wire hence electrocuting and burning him and died instantly,” said Maate.
The police visited the scene of crime and recorded statements from some eyewitnesses.
Maate added that the body taken to Kihihi health centre IV for postmortem before handing it over to relatives for burial.
