Sunday November 5, 2023 Busoga and Uganda, woke up to the sad news of the passing of Dr Daudi Kantaale Kazungu of Kamuli.
In his eulogy, Benon Kigenyi the undersecretary Ministry of Local Government described the (now) Late Dr. Kazungu as a great politician, diplomat, scholar, critique, and example.
“Busoga has lost a great believer and education steward. His love for Mwiri, Kamuli Boys, Buckley, Kamuli girls, Namasagali College, and Busoga University were legendary. His times as a Member of Parliament, Minister, Chairman LC5, Chairman DSC, as well as Member of Busoga Diocese Synod at the Peak of Busoga Diocese mortified Servant Leadership,” Kigenyi texted.
Kigenyi said there was no time to wish being in opposition to the deceased’s viewpoints.
“Dr Kazungu was a brazen outspoken straight speaker. Never pretentious. That was his trademark, and he didn’t care if you liked his viewpoint. He was a great orator who used history and music to his advantage. He was a merchant of hope and happiness,” he said.
“Seeing his health failing over the last few years was a heavy and dampening moment, yet still he carried his majestic presence in rooms, even the hospital room. He simply was a man Mountain in character,” added Kigenyi.
“Eeh, Omwise Tooli.. How shall we console our brethren who you so loved. What a void you leave in the Kingdom of Busoga and the Church you served with Pride. How shall we console Maama Mutesi Kazungu for losing a lifelong companion whose steady, dependable, loving hand she held with pride for years,” mourned Kigenyi a proud friend of Kantaale.
