Security operatives in Njeru municipality Buikwe district have launched a hunt of three unidentified thugs who reportedly robbed a business woman a total of shs.10 million.
Margret Ssemiyagi, a 60-year-old resident of Kyabagu zone, Njeru central division in Buikwe district, last night faced it rough at her home when thugs armed with a gun attacked her from her Beer and Soda depot in Nakizibizi trading center.
Ssemiyagi narrates that the disturbing fate unfolded after she had parked her Premio UBE 850W as the alleged thugs dressed in civilian attires ordered her to handover everything while still in the car.
Eye witnesses say the thugs after collecting the items including money, smart phone and a key of her depot, boarded an unidentified motorcycle before discharging one live bullet in the air and went to unknown destination.
The Ssezibwa region police spokesperson, SP Hellen Butoto, confirmed the incident and said investigations into the matter have commenced to establish the perpetrators.
“The suspects are unknown gunmen and they are at large. However, inquiries into the aggravated robbery are at hand,” said Butoto.
