In a distressing turn of events, a fire outbreak has this morning reportedly destroyed properties of businessmen at Bulenga Nakuwadde in Wakiso district, leading to loss of several item and huge sums of cash money.
The unfortunate occurrence transpired Wednesday at approximately 4am, which according to reports was sparked off by electricity wires that ignited the fire.
The swiftly spreading fire invaded five maize stores and a plastic bag manufacturing company, prompting locals to alert the Fire Prevention and Rescue team that promptly responded and successfully contained and extinguished the fire.
“While investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire outbreak, initial findings suggest that the businesses affected have incurred significant losses, estimated to be worth billions of shillings,” confirmed ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy Public Relations Officer of Kampala Metropolitan Police.
Owoyesigyire noted that no injuries and loss of life have been reported and vowed to provide further details as the investigation progresses.
