Police in Jinja City are on the hunt of unknown individuals who allegedly ended the lives of two relatives without any identified reasons.
Kevin Kwagala, 41, and her 12-year-old granddaughter identified as Kevin Kwagala Junior were Thursday found lifeless in their house located in Walukuba Masese along Bidco road in the southern division of Jinja city.
The nasty incident has left the community of Walukuba in shock and having many unanswered questions.
Police were informed by the desperate residents and have embarked on their significant role of investigating the disturbing matter.
Reports indicate that the deceased’s son, yet to be identified, is the one who established the death of the duo after he had gone for his usual morning habit of checking on the family.
According to SP James Mubi, the Kiira region police publicist, the boy knocked on the door and couldn’t get any responses from the people inside.
Mubi said he (son) broke to enable him to access the people inside the house, and he was only welcomed with lifeless bodies.
“The deceased’s son had gone to check on his family in the morning. He knocked at the door in vain until he broke it to enable him to gain access,” said Mubi.
Police cordoned off the crime scene of to avoid contamination of evidence in their investigations.
Police has managed to get what Afande Mubi has described as vital information and exhibits from the crime scene.
“The scene of crime has been cordoned off to avoid contamination of the place,” he said.
Mubi says the police is determined to apprehend any suspects linked to the brutal murder of the old woman and the young girl.
