Main faction of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has worsened its relationship the Mpuuga faction by officially replacing him with Francis Zzake on the parliamentary commission.
Through their National Executive Committee, Bobi Wine’s NUP has made it clear that they are not at all interested any more in working with the former Leader of Opposition or reconciling with him and those who believe in his leadership.
Already the youthful and very talkative Mityana MP is excited by the news of his deployment to replace the Nyendo-Mukungwe MP who commands a lot of respect among most opposition MPs.
Zzake, according to sources very close to him, has vowed to use the new position as a platform to move mountains at parliament.
His deployed however is likely to cause more confusion in NUP beyond the already known division Mpuuga and Bobi because the position had previously been lobbied by Kimanya-Kabonera MP, Abed Bwanika.
Bwanika on November 24, 2023 wrote to their Secretary General, David Lowish Rubongoya proposing to be deployed as commissioner.
Bwanika has since openly come out to criticize the unbecoming way in which business is handled by the Bobi’s NUP.
It is anticipated that Bwanika shall either oppose Bobi within NUP or could consider joing Mpuuga who has finalized preparations for registration of a new political party.
